What happened in 2018?

This year, we have seen major growth in many areas at various levels in a very short time. That is why we have collected eight figures for you at the end of this year that show what we have achieved together.

3 major partnerships were announced in 2018. With ElringKlinger, Automotive Solutions Germany and Continental, we have gained great partners for our important battery, headlight and drive systems. We look forward to working with them!

30 Sion were reserved this year for the first official vehicle fleet. This is linked to an innovative future project in Mainz and will be available as part of the building of a completely self-sufficient residential area for electricity storage, carSharing and rideSharing. 

75 employees make up our great team from nine different countries, including Germany, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Great Britain, France, Poland, South Korea and Argentina.

1.000+ journalists have reported on us and carried our vision of climate-friendly mobility into the world. We have been featured around the world in daily newspapers, news magazines, TV and radio broadcasts, blogs and social media.

9.051 times has the Sion been reserved to this day. About 5.980 of these reservations have been made in 2018 alone. 

13.000+ people test drove the Sion. From March to October our test drive team toured all over Europe and inspired thousands of people in 47 different cities and 5 different countries with our vision.

What is up for 2019?

Finally, let's take a look into the year ahead. For one thing is clear: 2019 will be great! 

We are already working very effectively with our contract manufacturer and will publicly announce this partnership next year. But of course that is not all. In the upcoming year we will present the final design of the Sion, on the basis of which we will develop the serial prototypes. With these we would like to give you the opportunity to discover your serial Sion on test drives in many different places. When everything goes according to plan, at the end of 2019 the long-awaited moment will come: the production of the Sion will start. Try to imagine what it will feel like to see the first Sion leave the production hall. It definitely gives us goose bumps and we can't wait to rediscover the world with the Sion. 

In order for this adventure to happen soon, we continue to work enthusiastically and focused on the realization of our common vision. Because if we have learned one thing this year, it is that: idea + determination + community = success.
